Community Involvement
At Joseph Law Group, P.C. we are grateful for the successes we have enjoyed, grateful for the continued support from our community and grateful that we can give back to our community.
The team at Joseph Law Group, P.C. along with our friends and colleagues at Foley Griffin LLP are proud to sponsor and organize of the Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot charity event.
The race was founded by both firms in 2010 as a way of giving back to our community and supporting the fight against all blood cancers. The event has turned into a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition for nearly 2000 of our friends and neighbors. All the proceeds are donated to charity and over the years, we have raised several hundred thousand dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In 2023, we are proud to also support the John Theissen Children’s Foundation, a local charity, whose mission includes assisting sick and underprivileged children with toys throughout the holiday season, as well as helping families defray medical expenses, and providing hospitals and child-care facilities with therapeutic and recreational equipment.
James, a cancer survivor, has been supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in various capacities since 2002. In 2017, he was awarded the Chairman’s Leadership Award, for amongst other things, having raised in excess of $1,000,000.00 in support of their mission. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Long Island Chapter for over a decade and continues to support this worthy charity.
All our lawyers are active members of the Nassau County Bar Association (“NCBA”), where James serves as a member of the Executive Committee. With nearly 4000 members, the NCBA is one of the largest suburban bar associations in the country. The NCBA is the leading source for legal information and services for the legal profession in Nassau County, New York and serves the local community in countless ways. For example, The We Care Fund, the charitable arm of the NCBA has raised and distributed over $5,000,000 to local charities committed to improving the quality of life for children, the elderly, and others in need throughout Nassau County.
