Mediation
Mediation is a method for resolving a divorce; it allows couples to make their own decisions. You and your spouse will meet with a neutral third party (a mediator) to work through issues in your divorce and reach a mutually agreed-upon settlement. The mediator will facilitate the discussion while you and your spouse are responsible for making the decisions. A divorce mediator helps the parties communicate their needs and interests, make informed decisions, and create an agreement that benefits both parties and their family. For example, a mediator can help you reach an agreement on issues such as child custody, support, and property division. No court appearances by the couple are required.
Benefits of mediation:
- More affordable.
- Takes less time.
- Improves communication.
- Gives you control.
- Allows you to make better decisions for you and your family.
